Sensimlla is from Spanish "sin semilla" which means "without seeds" -- for marijuana buds without seeds.

Reefer is a term Jazz musicians from the mid 1930's in the United States gave to Cannabis.

Dope was a term for Cannabis popularized from the book Dope by Arthur Ward in 1919 under the pseudonym Sax Rohmer, who also wrote Dr Fu Manchu.

Ganja was popularized as a term for Cannabis by Rastafarian Reggae musicians from Jamaica like Bob Marley throughout the 1970s.
